Blueknot Foundation

Blueknot Foundation's website provides tips on how to seek out a suitable therapist, as well as contact detials of providers who identify skills and experience in this area. Blueknot also provides phone and email based support for adult survivors of childhood trauma and abuse, as well as for their supporters and the professionals who work with them. Survivors can access one hour of free specialised phone counselling per week, though this is not always possible on demand or with the same counsellor.

What To Expect:

  • Once you contact the service you will meet with one of the group facilitators who will show you the group space and tell you a bit more about the group. If you think you would like to continue, the facilitator will then talk more about your hopes for attending the group and the things that support you in your life. You are in control of how much you do or don’t share. Research indicates that talking about the details of the abuse isn’t always helpful and isn’t necessary in order to move closer to healing.
